A closer look at what we’ve really lost..

Like many others, I was devastated upon hearing that Torres wanted out from Anfield. After awhile, it really got me thinking. Are we truly losing a player who is as good as we really think he is? A player who has been instrumental in helping us to win games? A player who as a ‘world class’ striker really troubles defences? You decide for youself.

Fernando Torres’ Shot

As you can see, the stats arent that great eh? I randomly picked those games. Very average indeed, and defintely doesn’t warrant a 50 million price tag.

Fernando Torres’ Passing

That is a 53.5% pass completion rate among those 4 games. Against Manure, some people were saying how Torres had a good game by winning us the penalty and free kick which Gerrard both converted, but his overall contribution of shots and goals were abymssal. With the stats, we can consider that Liverpool had effectively played with 10 men against Manure.

Fernando Torres’ Possession Play

The blue dots represents successful tackels, while the red dots represents a lost in possession (aerial challenges, dribbling). Now seriously? He has lost possesion more time than he has gained it, bar Manure. How a ’world class’ striker, World Cup and European Cup Winner can ‘acheive’ these stats are beyond me. Based on these stats, he has been an absolute liability to the team!

Hopefully this will open the eyes of those who claim ‘we need Torres to stand a chance quialifying for UCL next season’, or ‘selling Torres will be taking a step backwards’. Well, adios Torres! The greatest thing you ever did for us was to land us a 50 million cheque. For that I thank you.

Time to welcome Luis Suarez! Our new Torres, and Andy Carroll! Our new Suarez.

Comments are welcomed. :)

Everything Changes ….

I was thinking to write something , some thing that could translate my feelings right now regarding the latest happenings in the January Transfer window 2011.

Like all the reds, I was shocked to death when I came to know about the request Torres handed in. I would skip everything and come to an end. At all the forums , I was telling everyone to be respectful for him , for his choices no matter what he did right now , he was once a part of brilliant Liverpool era where we smashed Chelsea, Manchester united, Real Madrid and many big names in game of football at different levels. He was a prolific goal scorer through & through. He gave us hope and we all thought its about to happen ( the golden sky we all sing about ) but it never materialized. In fact we were digging depth in the bottom table. We were in relegation zone with Him in the team, we failed to qualify for champions league last year with him in the team…….there is a sense of message. Liverpool is just not a club dependent on a single player up front no matter how much important. We are THE TEAM from top to bottom and we need a leader to propel as in the same direction. Thanks to NESV for appointing King Kenny back who refreshed everything.

I just saw this first interview (Torres ) for Chelsea and it breaks my heart. At the end when he said that ” its everyone dream to play for a top football club and I am doing it right now ” …REALLY ? Even you could see it in his eyes that he was lied to himself. I would HATE to see him in that blue shirt more than anyone now ……I cannot imagine how would he plan to face the audience and the KOP when Chelsea meets Liverpool next Sunday. A man who couple of months back re iterated that he wont play for any other English club ever , joined Chelsea that too at such a threshold ? Is this your word Nando ? Is this what makes you what you are ? Is this your way of saying THANK YOU to all the support and love we gave you ? For someone having a dead conscience , i am sure it would be !!!

I feel that thee KOP most hated Konchesky & Poulsen for even far far better from you now. At least , they respect the club to an extent that they did not do anything like that.

Apart from all this BLUESHIT, we signed the Gun fighter , SUAREZ !!!! Trust me, when i was watching WC back in the days, i hoped one day he might come to Anfield and play for reds and god willing it happened today and it makes me so glad to see him in that red shirt.

Carrol, it cannot get any better !!! The aerial power is back !!!!
Coupled with Suarez , Gerard , Kuyt & Meireles, he could turn out to be a revelation I tell you. Its a blessings in disguise that Torres left……the negativity would be gone now !!!

And I call upon every red, in every nook and corner of the world to cheer up. forget about torres, lets sing it all together once again ……..lets sing it for Stevie …for Kenny ….for every single heart that breaths the name Liverpool !!
