One step in the right direction

It has been nearly 22 years since the darkest days in our history happened. You are certainly familiar with it. 96 people crushed to death at Hillsborough stadium in Sheffield. 766 people were injured physically, millions of wounded psychologically.

22 years ago and still has justice has not been done. There you have the receipt that our world is about to go under. Money and time are more important than wasting their resources on an event that most people have forgotten about.

What they do not know, is that we have not forgotten. There are people around us who have fought for 22 years for just a bit of justice. Just to get a simple human right.

Those responsible has allowed people who lost their beloved to wait for 22 years, to find out basic things, such as when, where and how their loved one was taking away from them.

Parents, girlfriends, boyfriends, fiancee, fiancées, cousins, uncles, aunts, friends and all the other related to those who died, have waited 22 years to see a stitch of  justice. That is nothing but  inhuman.

It is yet another indication of how the highest hens in society prioritize things.

Still people are waiting for the truth. This is a step in the right direction. Finally.

Justice for the 96 who died that horrible April afternoon in Sheffield. Rest in peace, and we think about you.

  1. As far as the authorities were concerned the people who died at Hillsboro’ were scum and by association their families are scum. The families have had a wall of silence and a smokescreen of lies to deal with as well as their grief. They have been screwed time after time by a legal system which doesn’t exist for justice but only to protect the corrupt and incompetent. Nice piece of writing,Nezik
