‘’ We will see once again against birmingham that the huge energetic performances of the big games abruptly disappears. The likes of spearing, lucas and kuyt will be well down in energy levels. We have struggled against the smaller teams all season because of the failure of the management to insist on a high powered first 15 minutes to get a 2-3 goal lead and then sit back and hit the opposition on the break.Too many times Dalglish fails to implement this requirement. It will turn out to be yet another small team opponent failure. How is a team that cannot beat small teams ever going to win a title? The management and players are weak in the head.Even southampton beat man utd in 1976 to win an fa cup.So any poor team can play above themselves now and again. What are our fans getting so excited about? You will alll be be frustrated and depressed by 5pm on saturday evening.’’
The above is a comment made yesterday morning on a post in which Antoine (our host) presented the Liverpool vs. Birmingham game. I have not touched it. It is what the author wrote (copy and paste).
The author of the above comment claims to be a Liverpool fan, and in all fairness, I have no reason to doubt this. Had this comment been made 5/6 months ago, it would have likely proved to be correct, but to post such a comment now, April 2011 with the events that have been unfolding, is an nothing short of unwarranted disbelief.
I will not comment yesterday’s game or the outcome which, as I had hinted, proved the author of the above comment utterly wrong in his assumptions and wayward predictions. What I wanted to say is that when there is scope to believe, people should believe! I cannot understand what joy people find to be so upsettingly negative, so helplessly destructive, and so pretentious in making sure their lone cry forces its way into the minds of others.
Another point I wanted to make is this! The Reds are now 9 games unbeaten at home, and in the last 6 games played the Reds have notched up 13 points against 8 gained by Spurs (who are currently our direct competitors for 5th). May I also bring to your attention that three of those six games the Reds played Man Utd, Man City and Arsenal, beating both Mancs and holding the PL title contending Gunners to a draw on their home turf?
The above achieved with what remains a shallow squad and with injuries that have hastily yet wonderfully promoted Jay Spearing, John Flanagan and now Jack Robinson to first team starting berths. And they have NOT disappointed!
5th is closer. The math keeps us in contention. Believe Liverpool fans, believe!
HAPPY EASTER TO ALL!
Happy Easter

When Kenny took over he said he just wanted to put back the smile on the players faces again and that they enjoy playing football again. And did he promise too much? Not at all! Look at our team today! The players were fighting and enjoying themselves and had so much fun!
Second thing he said was to play the Liverpool Way again so that no-one is bigger than the club. Today we didn’t have Gerrard in the line-up. First half of the season that would’ve been our death. But today the team showed its fighting spirit. Some critics were also saying what the hell is Maxi doing in the squad. Well he showed them why. So everybody in the team can score. Look at Lucas he’s developed to such a good midfielder and then Dirk he’s been a great leader today and ‘replaced’ Gerrard in a great way. Last but not least I also want to mention Reina! he’s also back in form and keeps getting us clean sheets.
The third thing what changed for me is that Kenny gives the youngsters a chance. Jack and Flano were brill today and let’s not forget about Spearo. He and Lucas- what a midfield! Kenny also loans the youngsters out like pacheco or ecclestone so that they gain more match experience and when they’re coming back they’re gonna be massive.
All in all Kenny not only gave the players a smile back on their faces, he also gave us fans a lot to smile and celebrate and to be sooo proud of our boys. With just a few signings in the summer our team can be a force again and play at the top of the league. I do believe that the next season will be our season if Kenny finally gets the manager job! So please dear Liverpool Football Club give ‘Sir’ King Kenny the manager job!!

I received the following request by a Celtic fan, it is terrible that people would resort to such violence.
Hi,
I was hoping to appeal to your better nature as football fans!
I’m Celtic supporter and as many of you will be aware of our manager, Neil Lennon, is the victim of horrendous sectarianism abuse. He has received death threats and bullets and recently this week, parcel bombs addressed to him were intercepted by police. Our manager is under severe security as the threat to his life is very real. I know I’m a Celtic supporter, but as everyone on his forum are football fans, you can understand how much these bomb threats are completely beyond the game of football. It’s gone too far.
What we are asking every club we can get is that on the 18th minute (Neil Lennon’s squad number when he played for Celtic) of Liverpool’s next game, that supporters can have a 2minute applause and chant Neil Lennon’s name as a sign of support for our manager. It’s time for ALL football fans to unite and drive away the hatred that is ruining our manager’s life.
I was going to ask if its possible if the fans could do this this weekend? its would be greatly appreciated the more coverage of support for Neil the better as far as I am concerned.
Its time to show football fans united at the end of the day thats what it is about football not race or religion!! there is no reason why he should be treated like a second class citizen i would be extremley greatful if you could help with this – any questions please feel free to ask.
Thank you,
