Liverpool FC coming to America, reasons to be cheerful

Posted by

The Reds will play AC Roma on July 25th at Fenway Park (the home of the Boston Red Sox) or as it will be known that day “Anfield West”.

Many have wondered how a baseball stadium which is shaped like a diamond can host  a football game? The last time Fenway Park hosted a football game it was in 2010 when Celtic played Sporting, the diagram above shows the seating set up.

As far as Liverpool are concerned touring North America has always been a good omen.
In 1946 Liverpool F.C. toured America and then the following season won the league after 23 years.
In 1964 Liverpool F.C. toured America and then the following season won the FA cup for the first time.
In 2004 Liverpool F.C. toured America and then the following season won the European Cup after 21 years.

More info on this year’s tour will be published.

  1. Errrm why hasn’t anyone picked up the fact that it was such a good omen twice before and arranged a tour to America years before the other Red team reached title no 19?
