Spanish reports claim Liverpool will bid £31.2m for Isco in January

Do the Reds really have a chance of securing the excellent attacking midfielder?

The fairly unreliable Spanish source fichajes claim that Liverpool have made superstar playmaker Isco their no.1 January transfer target.

The report reckons that Brendan Rodgers is a huge admirer of the 22-year-old (who wouldn’t be), and that the Reds have readied a £31.2m bid for his services when the winter window opens.

Isco is enjoying a mesmeric spell of form right now for Real Madrid, and was probably their best player during the back-to-back Champions League victories Los Blancos just racked up over us.

The 22-year-old has benefitted from Gareth Bale’s injury, and many are wondering how the world’s most expensive player will get back in the starting lineup as a result.

While capturing Isco would be a truly special feat, his arrival seems highly unlikely. There seems little reason as to why Real Madrid would consider selling, especially given how well he’s performing, his age, and the fact he has the talent to develop into a genuine world great.

What’s more – if Liverpool are to make January signings, the club would be wise to focus on defenders or strikers rather than attacking midfielders; with Coutinho and Raheem Sterling among many fighting for the pivotal no.10 spot.
