Alexandre Lacazette won’t be allowed to join Liverpool…

Lyon hitman Alexandre Lacazette has again been linked with a possible January transfer to Liverpool, this time in the Mirror.

The 23-year-old has taken Ligue 1 by storm this season, but his president Jean Michel Aulas has promised supporters that the potential superstar won’t be sold in January.

“The difference between now and Benzema’s time is that we will soon have a big stadium to ensure revenue,” Aulas told French broadcaster RMC.

“There won’t be such a need to sell players. Lacazette won’t go anywhere. We have enough money so that we can keep him.”

Lacazette has bagged 15 goals in 18 starts so far, which has seen his stock rise dramatically. In the whole of Europe, only Cristiano Ronaldo has scored more league goals (25) than the Frenchman in 2014/15, meaning he’s been more prolific so far than Lionel Messi, Sergio Aguero and Diego Costa.

He prides himself on his speed and ability to work the channels. In this respect, he’s exactly what Liverpool need up top in Daniel Sturridge’s absence, as his movement and dynamism creates space for others to either pass or move into.

Sadly though, it seems that Aulas will make his capture extremely difficult, and in hindsight, we should have signed him during the summer instead.
