Fernando Torres linked with Liverpool AGAIN – would you want him back at Anfield?

Chelsea striker Fernando Torres, currently on loan at AC Milan, has been linked with a return to the Reds…

The Daily Mail are the latest member of the national press to link Liverpool with a shock move for former striker Fernando Torres – but would the fans want to see ‘El Nino’ back at Anfield?

Torres has scored just once in 10 games for AC Milan, where he is just half a season into a two-year loan deal from parent club Chelsea, who paid the Reds £50m for his services back in January 2011.

The source claims that Liverpool are ‘seriously considering’ a move to bolster their miss-firing front-line, which currently includes Daniel Sturridge, Mario Balotelli, Rickie Lambert and Fabio Borini – who have just five goals between them this season.

It has been widely reported in Italy that the Serie A side want to end the deal due to the striker’s lack of form and goals, and the Spaniard’s future is currently up in the air.

Brendan Rodgers and co could face competition from another of Torres’ former clubs, Atletico Madrid, who have also shown an interest in signing the player on a free.

Torres scored 91 goals in 244 games for Madrid before netting 81 in just 142 matches for Liverpool. However, he has struck just 45 times in 172 games for Chelsea, over half of which came in cup competitions.
