Champions League holders Real Madrid are considering a monstrous summer bid for our sublimely talented young attacker Raheem Sterling, reports the Daily Star.

How Liverpool fans reacted on Twitter to Diego Costa’s stamps for Chelsea

The 20-year-old has reportedly turned down a second contract extension offer from us, which also has earned him the attention of last night’s League Cup opponents Chelsea.

The article claims that the Spanish giants are prepared to pay as much as £50m to secure Sterling’s services, and beat off competition from Jose Mourinho’s outfit.

We’re desperate for Sterling to renew his deal, which will hopefully put an end to this consistent speculation.

Brendan Rodgers recently claimed that a contract would be signed imminently, but as of yet, there’s been no confirmation from the player or his representatives.

“The player is very happy,” said the manager.

“It [the delay] is nothing to do with Raheem, he wants to be here so hopefully we get the solution on that very soon.”

If Real Madrid did agree to fork out £50m for Sterling, it would prove that football truly has gone mad – as with Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema already starting up top, it would be very difficult for Sterling to get regular game-time.

Hopefully the player’s agents will stop demanding such ludicrous money, and he’ll commit his long-term future, shortly.
