Mamadou Sakho has given Liverpool a major boost ahead of their weekend game with West Ham…

Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho will be back in training tomorrow, despite limping off during the Capital One Cup semi-final defeat to Chelsea on Tuesday evening with a back complaint.

The news will come as a huge relief to manager Brendan Rodgers who is already without Kolo Toure. The Ivorian is currently away on international duty participating in the African Cup of Nations.

Sakho has been in fine form in recent months, becoming an established member of Rodgers’ new look back-three, alongside Martin Skrtel and Emre Can.

Earlier today, Rodgers said: “Sakho we’ll assess tomorrow, he’s still recovering.”

However, the defender has since tweeted to confirm his well-being:
