Liverpool transfer rumours

The 20 year-old has developed into one of the brightest assets of this Liverpool side, offering a solution up front as a false nine in recent weeks as well as in his usual positions on either wing or at the tip of a diamond midfield, and Reds fans are naturally very keen to see him continue to develop at Anfield.

After weeks of Brendan Rodgers being the only one to speak out about Sterling’s future, the player himself has found his voice.

“We’re working on it and hopefully it will be sorted soon, “Sterling told the Liverpool Echo.

Following a difficult start to the campaign, Rodgers appears to have now guided us into sixth place – just three points behind Arsenal in third.

No team is in better form over the last six games than us, with 16 points from the past 18 available, and it’s encouraging to see us climb up the table.

It’s a view Sterling certainly subscribes to, and one that may hint at his public comments on his future.

“We knew we were top four material from the start of the season,” said the youngster.

“Obviously, it didn’t go as planned at the start but now we’re showing what we can do.

“Credit to the boys, we just keep to need keep performing and keep fighting and then we’ll definitely get to where we want to be.

“All the boys are really up for it. Everyone is fighting hard for the team and defending with their lives.
