Liverpool’s ‘official donut partner’ (yes that’s now a thing) Dunkin’ Donuts have been embarrassingly forced to apologise after tweeting a mock-up club crest that replaced the eternal Hillsborough flames with milkshakes.

The US company asked fans to suggest what they would like on their own personal crest and posted a Dunkin’ Donuts version of the iconic Liverpool badge which also saw the Shankly gates replaced with donuts.
This PR nightmare was immediately denounced by fans on Twitter and we’ve rounded up some of the best responses below that express just how disrespectful this campaign would have been:
