Ibe is eligible to play for Nigeria because of his father, and the African giants want to tempt the 19-year-old into turning his back on England and committing his future to them instead.

Our winger has represented England at multiple youth levels, and while he’s expected to one day play for the senior side, he could be fast-tracked now – with Roy Hodgson and co. desperate not to lose the enormously talented teenager to the Nigerians.

Since his recall from his Championship loan spell with Derby County, Ibe has torn up Premier League trees. He’s excelled as a right wing-back, and has practically made the spot his own – with crucial Europa League and Premier League matches quickly approaching.

England currently have Raheem Sterling, Jordan Henderson, Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert and Glen Johnson as regular members of the first-team squad – but it seems as though they may be joined by another teammate shortly.
