One of the shining lights of our season, Coutinho has only been called up for Brazil five times previously and missed out on the 2014 World Cup squad despite his brilliant form in our title charge late last season.

However, it seems he’s now consistently done enough to warrant a place in the squad of Selecao – with new coach Dunga putting him in his 23-man team for the third consecutive time, reports Daily Mirror.

Coutinho’s scored a number of crucial goals and has put in impressive performances over the past few weeks agains the likes of Southampton and Manchester City.

Whilst everyone at the club is surely happy for the 22-year-old, you can bet the entire Liverpool family will be holding their breath every minute he is on the field for the Brazilian national side! An injury to our playmaker would be devastating news, right now.

He joins Chelsea trio Filipe Luis, Oscar and Willian in the squad, as well as Man City’s Fernandinho.
