According to the Daily Mirror, the England youth team international has been watched by Brendan Rodgers’ scouts over the last six games, which have seen him score four goals for Neil Redfearn’s resurgent side.

Both Everton and West Ham United have also expressed an interest in the 20-year-old, who graduated from the Leeds academy in 2013, after joining the club as a nine-year-old way back in 2004.

Unfortunately, any deal could be hampered by Leeds’ still unclear ownership situation. Club owner Massimo Cellino is currently banned after failing the Football League’s directors’ rules, although he could return at the end of the season.

If he does, the Mirror believes he would be likely to demand around £5m, plus significant performance-related add-ons, for a player such as Mowatt, whose potential saw him voted the club’s young player of the year last season.
