Can we make it 14 games unbeaten on Sunday?

Brendan Rodgers says Liverpool have their sights firmly set on second place in the Premier League, after our 1-0 win over Swansea City continued our incredible run of form – and, most importantly – our top four charge.

There are still nine games left to play this season and although we are currently fifth, we’re just four points behind second placed Manchester City after their loss to Burnley at the weekend.

The victory in Wales was our fifth successive win, our sixth straight away victory and confirmed our status as the form team since Christmas winning 32 points from a possible 36.

However, despite our excellent form it may be that our next two Premier League fixtures; Sunday’s game against Manchester United and the away trip to Arsenal after the international break, will ultimately decide our Champions League fate for next season.

“Manchester City’s result at the weekend gives us an opportunity to finish second,” Rodgers said, reports Daily Mail.

“Our mentality, the run and confidence we have at the moment we’re just going to take that into every game and see where it takes us.

“We’ve put ourselves in a great position. There is still a lot of work to go so we’ll recover now and get ready for the weekend.

“The target is to finish as high as we can. Everyone talks about fourth but it’s the same every year for me. We do the best we can do.”
