Jordan Henderson, Adam Lallana, Raheem Sterling, Daniel Sturridge will all be involved in the Euro 2016 qualifier against Lithuania and again in the friendly with Italy.

Presumably due to his form and lack of game time this season Rickie Lambert has been expectedly dropped whilst there’s no room for Jon Flanagan who has only just recovered from a knee injury.

Hopefully, the fortunes of our players on international duty will be a lot better than they were in September considering the issues suffered by Sturridge at the start of the season and the criticisms of Raheem Sterling.

Sturridge suffered a thigh problem whilst away with the Three Lions which resulted in some public acrimony between Roy Hodgson and Brendan Rodgers of how to best manage post game recovery.

The striker then unluckily pulled his calf muscle on the eve of his first team return which kept him out of the side until the end of January.

Sterling, meanwhile was lambasted by the press and ridiculed for his request to sit our England’s match with Estonia in October because he was too tired.

Let’s hope the two, and the rest of the Liverpool squad, are more lucky and afforded more respect this time around.
