Don’t make us laugh!
The Daily Mail regularly publish guff, but this latest attempt at journalism has got us especially riled…
Based on average crowds, global fanbase, trophies, average league finish, player quality and income – Sportsmail reckon that both Manchester United and Arsenal are ‘bigger’ clubs than us.
This is despite the fact that our average league position is the BEST, our trophy haul is the BEST and our ‘player quality’ (based on a weird algorithmic combination of players at the 2014 World Cup, and historical players that have represented England) is the BEST.
Apparently, our ‘crowd’ (despite the fact we play at Anfield – the most famous club football stadium in the country by a country mile) is ranked below Sunderland, Aston Villa, Spurs, Everton and Chelsea. Chelsea?! The club whose own manager consistently criticised his own rubbish supporters?!
We’ve won the European Cup on five occasions. Arsenal have made one final.
Please…
