Speaking about the call-up, the 18-year-old said this week: “It’s amazing to train here because it’s where the first team train every day and where the top players are training, and that is an unbelievable feeling.

“This is a big chance for us as they [manager and staff] trust in us and we can try to step up to the first team and that is our motivation.”

So who is he? Here’s all you need to know about the Reds’ latest prodigy:

8) Canos turned 18 on on February 2nd. He is a versatile forward who, according to our official website, can play both on the right or through the middle as a traditional No. 9.

7) The Spaniard began his footballing career with Barcelona. He joined Liverpool in the summer of 2013, and is still awaiting his first appearance for our first-team. The Catalans were so frustrated to see him leave that they made an appeal to the Spanish FA over the legality of the move.
