Proud to be Red

I am gutted that we are out of the Champions League but we did not leave without a fight. Tonight’s thriller at Stamford Bridge was probably the best advertisement the Premiership had ever hoped for.

We had a mountain to climb and after Aurelio & Alonso scored in the first half it looked like we were on our way however we found ourselves 3-2 down and 6-3 down on aggregate late in the 2nd half. However the story did not end there, Lucas & Kuyt gave us hope in the dying minutes of the game however it was not meant to be and Lampard score in the dying minutes to seal the score 4-4 on the night and 7-5 on aggregate.

I have never been prouder to be a red we showed what we are made of tonight and it was the best tribute the lads could pay to the 96.

And I echo Rafa’s comments.
“When you play against a team like Chelsea, though, you are made to pay for your mistakes and even though we were pushing and attacking, there were one or two mistakes and they scored.

“Clearly when you lose you are disappointed, but to lose in this way you have to be really proud, hold your head up and think about the Premier League.

“We are positive because we have shown that we can score four goals here at Stamford Bridge and we can do the same at any stadium. We can win many games with this mentality.”

Y.N.W.A. and Justice for the 96
God Bless Liverpool F.C.
