What is up with 4-4?

I wonder what the odds are on a team having two consecutive 4-4 results? Well whatever they are, Liverpool did it. For the neutrals this was another very entertaining game, however for us reds we are gutted but relieved to fetch a point in the dying seconds.

We totally dominated the game and deserved much more than that but football can be very cruel and we were punished for 4 defensive errors that could have been avoided.
Arsenal started off with a goal in the first half from Arshavin but early in the second half Torres tied up the game and 7 minutes later Benayoun put us ahead.

Unfortunately the lead did not last very long, Arshavin tied it again in the 67th minute before he put Arsenal ahead again at 3-2 in the 70th minute.

A quick response from Torres tied the game up again until Arshavin scored his fourth goal in the 90th minute. Benayoun saved the point in the dying seconds of injury time to put the final score at 4-4.

Rafa himself admitted that the defensive errors cost us the 2 points. “We made too many mistakes, but it’s also positive because the team showed character to the last minute. We have a point against a good team and we are top. United are in the driving seat so we have to keep pushing until the last game. Arsenal have to play United… it’s football, you never know.”

We are now top on goal difference however if United tie or win tomorrow they move 3 points ahead of us with a game in hand. All we can do now is hope that our old buddy Peter Crouch can produce some magic.
