Florentino Perez Hints Xabi Alonso price is high and he may look in Madrid youth ranks.

Florentino Perez had today said that “certain” spanish players would’ve cost less than half what they do now last summer, and said that if it is necessary he will look through the youth ranks known as “Real Madrid Castilla”.

Accordin to The Daily Telegraph, Perez said “We made huge attempts at the start to sign players who had won the Ballon d’Or or the World Footballer of the Year award,” Perez said, according to The Daily Telegraph.

“But the arrivals of Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo have confused some people who obviously thought that, because we said we wanted more Spanish players, they could ask for fees which don’t correspond to reality.

“A year ago, certain players we have asked about would have cost less than half the price we are being quoted now. There is nothing that justifies these prices.”

Perez added that such valuations may force Los Merengues to look within their current ranks, stating, “If necessary, we will find the Spanish players we would like for the squad in our youth system.”

  1. If he does not want to pay the prices, which by the way are ALL inflated, then he should bugger off.

If you paid for Ronaldo at more than double what he is actually worth then how can you now make a distinction that one price is justified while the other is too high? Hypocrite!

  2. Sounds like fighting talk to me. I’ve heard Xabi hasn’t even asked to leave and that the Spanish media (MARCA in particular)are just “stiring the pot”. I just want an end to this now, Xabi should publically state whether he wants to stay or go and get the situation over with.

  3. Do it then!!!! Leave Xabi alone! The reason he is worth so much is because he is an excellent player who did so well last season his price went up. If he isn’t worth it, then stop trying to get him!

  4. haha sod off then madrid if u dnt wan him leave him alone an let him stay with the mighty reds is right xabi lad hope ye sort this out an come out with u either wana stay or leave use an use fellas wer right use tell them lads haha

  5. Alonso should honour the fans who honour him. He wants to have Perez doing his talking while he stands in the corner. Had it not been fo Liverpool Alonso would not be where he is today. He needs to stand up and say “Liverpool is my team and I will help them win the league”. Forget 24 , 27 and all the so called stumbling blocks. Those fans in Asia begged him to stay what more does he need? Real want him because they got thrashed by Liverpool and they are still suffering the humilation. Stand firm Mr Benitez
