Rafa’s decisions!

Hello Reds, I am going to making comments about Rafa’s selections and substitutions, Bit pointless doing the Villa game now and I don’t really want to go there anyway!
So this weekend what should he do, well I think we start the same 11, but if it continues to be frustrating and compact up front, then I would like Gerrard to come back into Midfield or even down the wing, with Yossi going up and playing off Torres. At half time take Lucas off, bring on Reira move Stevie-G into the middle and keep Yossi up front. This is what I want to see from the start, as I believe it will help the team perform to the full potential while we await those 2 extra world class players. with Gerrard back in the middle and Yossi up front, Riera and Kuyt on the the wings. This should de-congest the center of our attack and with the wings given instructions to stay wide and supply crosses, there should be plenty of opportunities for Gerrard to bomb forward either with the ball or to get on the end of crosses. He would also have the space to spray passes wide and up to the front guy.

    1. Well so do I but at the moment and yet again, he needs confidence to play where he is being played. Ideally he should be playing as a center forward then we would see the real Babel!

      1. You may see I have included Lucas. This is due to the fact I think he is ok against weaker teams, so a good way of bringing him on. He was exposed against Villa, he pondered on the ball and was caught in possession to much. He is also very weak in competing for the loose ball. Only good thing I can say at the moment is, he can pass well!

  1. I also have some hope for Ryan and also Voronin but I think what Rafa needs to understand is that sometimes he does get the starting line up wrong and he should make changes BEFORE the 60min mark, he leaves it for too late to bring on the subs.

  2. ..yes lucas is ok..but raffa cant be starting him especially during this early stages of the competition. i feel Gerrard shd come back to midfield cos b4 Mascherano came in, he partnered xabi, and so for now we need him in the middle. anothere reason is that Gerrard always pulls the trigger when he plays in midfield, looking at the Villa game for instance, when he came back to midfield he gave two shots on target. when he is in front he doesnt get those opportunities.
again i feel Ryan will be better on the right side, so if he shd start, then shd be at the right wings and then Kuyt is pulled to support Torres, for Yossi to continue on the left flanks. Alternatively we can maintain the same set we used on monday with one change – Reira coming in for Lucas and then Yossi plays either on the right for Kuyt to partner Torres or vice versa.
Now i always have a problem with Jammie in defence, he seem not to communicate with his defence men, and results in bumping into them. he also overlaps too often and this becomes worrying when we play teams who are dangerous on counters.
we concede to many goals from Aerial Ball situations…..talk of CL game against Chelsea, PL games against Everton, Spurs, and Villa..we need to get things done rightly…
All is not Lost, this is just the beginning we will def pull through…Impossible is Nothing…YNWA

    1. Rafa can start Lucas, but only in games against the lower teams, teams I would consider weak in midfield, so he can grow and learn where his team mates are around him!

Babel should not be on either wing, period, that s not were he played before coming to Liverpool, he would be great given a chance up front as he knows where the posts are!

Yes we leak goals but tends to be when we are attacking and playing well, last season we came out on top in the majority of games that we did leak goals. As for champions league against Chelsea, they would not have got back into the game if it was not for there first goal Anelka fluke!

Hey anyway we have only lost 2 games and even last season we started not that well with draws, I would rather come into form in a month or so and sustain a run till the end of season, than jump out the blocks and die in the final month or 2. Bet Spurs finish 6th!
