Will a Tex-Saudi relationship work?

Former US President George W Bush and King Fahd of Saudi Arabia

Various citizens and companies from the US State of Texas have had a great relationship with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since 1936 when the Texas oil company bought a stake in the Saudi run oil company Aramco.

Over the years, oil has been the catalyst that kept the two parties together and former Presidents George Bush and his son George W Bush both had great working relationships with the Saudi Royal family.

Now there could be a new Saudi-Tex relationship forming which does not involve oil but rather our beloved Liverpool.  Various media sources are reporting that Tom Hicks has approved the sale of George Gillet’s Liverpool shares to Prince Faisal.

I believe that this is a step in the right direction and it could lead into Prince Faisal buying out Hicks’ shares later on. I also think that Hicks will eventually sell, he is simply playing for time. The evaluation of the club keeps increasing so he will end up making a lot of money once he eventually sells his shares.

George Gillett & Prince Faisal

Yes it is a bitter pill to swallow knowing how Gillett will make all these millions from our club’s sale, however he will be out of the picture.  At least Prince Faisal loves and understands the passion of football so I have high hopes.
