Hundred games like hundred suns. And it isn’t a small figur. Yesterday night Fernando Torres achieved this count in Liverpool red shirt and did it in a big way. The Spanish national joined a club of the great Anfield legends.
His goal average is slightly better than the one of the great Kevin Keegan or the standards made by Kenny Dalglish. Fernando also delivers great counters, just like the famous players used to do it in the past. “El numero 9” scored 90 goals in 99 official matches. This makes 0,60 goal in each game which upgrades Michael Owens result: 158 goals in 287 appearances.
Fernando already proved that he is one of the best strikers in the world. And he’s still improving, he hasn’t shown everything yet. This season, because of his injuries, he was only able to play in 15 matches, but nevertheless scored 10 goals. El Nino needs to hit the ball in the net two times more and he’ll break another record: his 50thgoal in the Premier League. Now he has 48 in 68 appearances on his list. Ian Rush needed 84 matches to achieve this; Fowler 88; Dalglish 98, the same as Owen.

Great post Amanda that is incredible, will Torres ever beat Ian Rush? I doubt it unfortunately because players do not play as many games as they did 20 years ago. I remember Rushie would even play League Cup games.
