So it was finally announced that Maxi ‘La Fiera’ Rodriguez has signed for Liverpool. What a coup by Rafa! A free-signing for a 29 year-old for three-and-a-half years is pretty good negotiating.
We have been crying out for some creativity in midfield, and with Aquilani still getting to know the game over here, someone like Maxi Rodriguez’s class and experience will be invaluable. I still cannot stop watching his goal vs Mexico in the 2006 World Cup in Germany. I’m not expecting volleys like that every week, but some goals at all would be nice. He shouldn’t have much problems making friends either.
So my question is, where does he fit into the team? Does he displace Kuyt on the right-hand side? Or does he play as an attacking-midfielder behind Torres? What do you expect from our new signing?
