Bigger things to worry about…

Posted by

My friends who have read my previous posts and comments would agree that i am an over optimistic liverpool supporter. Even in the most difficult of times, i always stick to supporting Players and the Manager and i still do with full passion and optimism. The events of the past few months have not dented my support for the club, but certainly have raised some questions that made me feel helpless and sometimes, literally in tears.

Last night, I ditched my office and came home to support the team. For some reason, i was not shattered by yesterday’s defeat. It felt like continuing a state of disappointment that i have carried for months now. What actually worries me is the fact that we the Liverpool supporters are becoming unwantedly fimiliar to the sights such as last night. Our weeks start with a disappointing result, carries on with the vows that we have no money and news about selling players like Stevie and Nando and ends at another heartbreaking game.

The problem now is not winning the FA cup or finishing fourth. In my view we have a bigger problem. The Facts like LACK OF FUNDS, SELLING TOP PLAYERS and Tasting defeat every now and then is realistically giving an impression that our beloved club, our life, Liverpool fc is moving too much fast to become a mid table club. A FULHAM or a Westham (no disrespect), that only plays for pride and keeping the fans together. I know a lot would disagree and anger on this view point, but i just hope they are right. As far as i can see…. This is exactly where we are headed if we don’t change things from director’s office to melwood and eventually on the pitch.

Come what may, I’ll always bleed RED!

  1. I think that your post and especially your conclusion is ridiculous.

They say that history doesn’t account for anything but I think that in football this is not true. Liverpool FC is a highly acclaimed and successful football club, (still) arguably the most successful club in English football. The likes of West Ham and Fulham (I too mean no disrespect) do not even come close to the foundations that LFC has been built on.

I too am bitterly disappointed with the way that this season has panned out. Yet the season has not even finished yet and you are already throwing LFC into the “has been” rubbish bin. Even if this season does not get better, you have to bear in mind that one season does not make a side that finished second last year a “mid-table club.”

Get real and analyse the club after a couple of seasons or at the very least, at the end of this season!

  2. I think that Jibrans comments may well be on a par with the feelings of many of our most loyal supporters but what I don’t agree with is the defeatist attitude. The last thing we need now is the supporters belief folding. We already have half the tabloids baying for blood so please lets keep posts on the fans favourite sites positive. After all, I can’t bear to read the papers the morning after a bad result so I don’t want the sanctity of fan sites to be compromised.

  3. Neither could I. Its true that I’m getting, scary enough, use to the idea of loosing a game. Yesterday, I allmost pretended it and i wasnt shocked. I knew, when that penalty was whistled, that it was going to be it for Liverpool Fc in the FA-cup this year.
The other day, I found an article who made me calm, believe it or not, but it was the one about T Hick’s mail where he claimed that there would be transfer money for rafa in the summer and that they were aiming to get some real quality players. But we all know how much his words are worth.. Anyway, every team is having a bad season every once in a while, and we truly are Liverpool Fc, The most-winning club in England! I have absolutely no doubt that we are going to get out of this mud and we HAVE to stand behind rafa, even more than before! YNWA guys, Never! Lets stand together and cheer the lads

  4. I did a lengthy reply, maybe it didn’t get sent properly. In short, the players need to start motivating themselves and rise to the occasions and wear the red shirt with pride and stop playing with their heads down the moment something goes wrong. This Liverpool team is the first team I have seen for a long time that doesn’t seem to have the will to fight. We can’t keep blaming the board and lack of funds, looking for other excuses to hide behind such as injuries. Especially now our 3 best players imo are out for at least 3 games. If players earning £40k+ a week cannot motivate themselves to play together then give some youngsters a chance to shine. We can’t get much worse.

  5. Adan Shapiro & Shaun Thomas:
Dont get me wrong mates, i would always and always stand by the team and fellow supporters… Its just my feelings of terrible fear and utter disappointment coming out..
Having said that, we need support and unity this season more than any…

    You’ll NEVER Walk Alone!
