Email from an LFC Supporter : Time for fans to put differences aside

I received this email from Tim Hartley, YNWA Tim we agree

Hi Antoine/ fellow contributors.

Firstly, thank you being so heavily involved in bringing LFC fans closer together with your input. I really enjoy it.

What’s concerning me at the moment is the lack of togetherness between all reds fans.

There have undoubtedly been differences of opinion lately regarding Rafa and the club but I feel that it is now having a detrimental effect on the ‘spirit of the fans’.

I contribute regularly to the daily blogs and enjoy debating with others about the daily agendas but it has struck me that there are now some ‘cracks in the dyke’ so to speak with regards to the respect and regard between fellow lfc supporters. Name calling, swearing and downright rudeness if we are honest about it. Things are bad enough so lets not make ourselves a laughing stock to others-namely mancs and bluenoses!

They are tough times. I have my opinions, same as everyone else and they may not sit well with others but we have to approach our fanzones with mutual respect for each other or what hope do we have.

No matter what our own feelings are about the day to day running of the club and how good or bad things are it should not impact so heavily as to create rivalry between our own fans or what chance do we have? Lets keep it for visiting teams by getting behind our team. I’m sure Shankley would agree.

No matter whether we are 1st or 2oth in the league we must stay united as fans. Lets all stick together through a difficult year and get behind the club as an entire unit- irrespective of our preference or dislike of owner, coach, player or tactics. It hurts me as much as anyone.

keep up all of the good work, mate!

Tim

  1. I completely agree, I have seen it myself at Anfield fans arguing in the stands with each other about there opinions on players, owners and the club at first I was really shocked but its happening so often it starting to become normal, but in this difficult time fans should be keeping all there energy to support the red men on the field not argue with the red men/women off the field.
