Stoke City made us a huge favour this evening by drawing with Man City at the Brittania Stadium, and it could been even better had it not been a late equalizer from the visitors and our direct competitors for the much desired 4th PL spot.
Man City are now 1 point above us with one game in hand, and we play them next at the City of Manchester stadium. If we win at Man City we will go 2 points above them and should they win their game in hand they will go just 1 point above us with all games square. A win therefore is a must and although Rafa said objectively that this game is not crucial, if Man City beat us and win their game in hand they can go as far as 7 points above us!
There are issues in our favour. Man City, Spurs and Villa have an extra game on their agenda’s as they all drew their FA Cup round games. This will always be in or favour. Fatigue, players picking up a knock here and there, and the three Clubs in question will most definitely want to progress in that competition.
Not to forget that Spurs are just one point behind us level on games, and Villa are two points adrift but they too have a game in hand.
