I’m quite sure that almost every Liverpool Fan has more than enough of this poor season. And the situation gets even worse, because we do not really know who is responsible for all the misery. The owners? For sure. The manager? In some way … The players? As far as I’m concerned, well … they are the main actors in this play called football. I know this will cause a lot of comments, so I’d like to admit rapidly, that I do not blame ONLY the players for the poor, poor season, but in several matches, it was their lack of performance and commitment and passion which led the team to bad results.
I wish it wasn’t the case. I wish our lads could be more confident and more proud of their season’s performance. I wish we mustn’t read all those stupid articles about Stevie, Torres and Rafa leaving. I wish we mustn’t take part those meaningless discussions about Torres on or off the pitch and is/was Rafa right or not? The media tend to blow up the smallest mistake and mishap into a national tragedy and we (the fans) are stupid enough taking part in it.
Well, we can’t change the result anyway, so what’s the point? Why do we spend or time on this?
After the encounter with Birmingham last Sunday The Times wrote:
“Fernando Torres spent most of the 45 minutes moaning and groaning at perceived injustices, making a mockery of his illustrious standing in the world game. If body language counts for anything, he is one unhappy Spaniard, a mood not helped when he picked up an injury to his right knee and was replaced by David Ngog in the 65th minute.”
Hmmm… yeah, maybe. But if it was so, I’d understand his behavior, would you? I mean: so many disappointments, so much bad luck, so long injured. Who wouldn’t be in bad mood? Of course, as a well paid footballer he should do the best out of the worst situation. Albeit, the most of us tend to forget that Liverpool FC isn’t only Torres and 10 blokes more. And it also isn’t Torres, Stevie and 9 more. It’s a team. If there’s someone to blame, than it’s the whole team. Not only a single person. Neither Rafa, nor Torres or Stevie.

Yes, that’s true. Liverpool is in deep crisis but those silly and meaningless debates it will not get better! It won’t change precisely nothing!
Can you remember the picture of Torres, while he was still playing for Atletico Madrid, which was taken after his last match against Barcelona? After this crucial match which Atletico lost badly and Atletico fans were actually happy about that? That was the point, when Torres finally decided to sign for us. He was tired of the situation in his beloved club. He was frustrated and he has had enough.
Torres was Atletico’s captain and all the pressure and disappointments were down to him to sort them out. The fans were expecting miracles from him which obviously wasn’t possible. It never is. The team was actually Torres and 10 other guys. Way too much responsibility and pressure for a 19-year old lad to . The signing for Liverpool was supposed to be a sort of relief; it was an escape from the stress.
Well, my worst fear is that the situation at Anfield could become similar to Torres’ past in Spain. That he’ll be made responsible for the team’s failures. That could make him want to escape from Liverpool. The history would repeat itself and who wants this to happen? Not me! I do not even want to think about …
I hope Liverpool will be able to win something in the Europe League and reach the 4th place in the Premier League as well. Though, even if they don’t … we cannot change that, we cannot force the results, we’re only fans.
