Reds taking H&G protests to the World Cup

Thanks to Fat Scouser for bringing this to my attention.  A group of Liverpool supporters are taking Anti-Hicks and Gillett banners with them to South Africa.

The grassroots group is currently trying to sign up more Reds to join the effort. A thread on the popular Independent L.F.C. forum Red White and Kop (R.A.W.K.) has already generated over 5,100 views. The group also have already had enough donations to produce the banners.

Not only are English Reds on board but the group is trying to encourage Liverpool’s international fan base to participate. The South African Reds are also on board and given the number of Liverpool fans in S.A. we will probably see the banners in many of the games.

From what I understand the group is really interested in getting American supporters on board too,  they feel that having the banners displayed during the US World Cup games will bring the cause to the attention of the US media. Hicks and Gillett are currently looking for buyers, however many Liverpool Supporters (including myself) are discouraged by the inflated price they are asking for the club. We want them to sell and get out A.S.A.P. before they cause more damage to our beloved club.

The question is, Will H&G be watching the World Cup? The answer is probably, NOT. However their neighbours and business associates might be watching.

Great work lads.
