Red’s World Cup Daily Round Up 29/06/2010

Another red mano-a-mano took place yesterday in South Africa when Dirk Kuyt’s Holland played Skrtel’s Slovakia in the knock out round of the tournament.

Well, it ended like expected …

Netherlands – Slovakia 2:1

There’s always only one winner and the Oranjes are with their Arjen Robben and few other superb lads are marching forward . Well, the do not always play as beautiful like they got us used to the Dutch style of playing football, but it’s effective. And a win is a win.

Kuyt and Skrtel both figured for 90 minutes in Durban, while Ryan Babel was again named amongst the Dutch substitutes. An 18th-minute goal by Arjen Robben and 84th-minute Kuyt’s powerful run and shot from 20 yards finished by Wesley Sneijder gave the Dutchmen the lead and only Vittek’s stoppage-time penalty reduced the shining.

Nevertherless, Holland maintained their 100 per cent record in South Africa to march on into the last eight.

Now the Oranjes will have to face Brazil on Friday afternoon. It’s going to be a thrilling match!

 Hup Holland!
