9,000 LFC supporters participate in sit in protest

Last Saturday’s sit in protest organised by Spirit of Shankly saw 9,000 Liverpool supporters who stayed in their seats at the end of the game. When you consider the attendance of around 43,000 for the game and you take away the Sunderland supporters, club executives, corporate types and other non-Liverpool supporters it was be safe to estimate that more than 30% of Liverpool supporters at Anfield supported the effort.

S.O.S. also held an EGM last weekend and is asking all Union members to vote in the resolutions put forth, voting is open for paid members of Spirit of Shankly.

The Union is organising another protest before the Blackpool game next Sunday and are urging all Liverpool supporters to join in the effort (even if they are not Union members). The march will start at Supporters Club on Walton Breck Road at 1.45pm and head towards the ground.

With many of us Liverpool supporters anxious to see Hicks and Gillett leave soon the Union has been growing in numbers. I encourage any Liverpool supporter out there (no matter where you live) to support the valiant efforts of Spirit of Shankly. Even after Hicks and Gillett are gone we need to make sure that whatever happened to our club does not happen again and having one strong voice is the only way we will be able to move forward.
