Liverpool legend David Fairclough in hospital

Posted by

Rumours were swirling earlier that Liverpool legend “Super Sub” David Fairclough has been admitted to hospital after suffering a heart attack. Unfortunately it looks like the rumours were true however thankfully David’s condition was described as mild and looks like he should be released from hospital on Wednesday.

Here are the Tweets from Jimmy Rice, Jim Boardman and the official LFC Twitter.

  1. I grew up with David as a true hero. He was an inspiration. He earned his nickname because he made the best of every chance he had, no matter how late in the game that may be. Get well soon super sub xx

  2. I hope it’s only rumor but anyway i wish him all the best. I’m reading The Liverpool Scout Twentimen and two hours ago I read the chapter about Fairclough. He’s too young to have heart problems.

  4. Evertonian here.

Sorry to hear the news, I remember David Fairclough presenting some medals to me as a kid and he was sound. Despite my Uncle’s best efforts and much to my Dad’s relief I was never pursuaded to join you lot as Fairclough, Keegan, Dalglish et al just never lived up to my hero, Big Bad Bob Latchford.

Nevertheless, I remember listening to the Etienne game on the radio as a kid and have fond memories of Fairclough as a local born player. As such, I would just like to extend my thoughts to David and hope that he makes a swift and full recovery.

    Get well soon David.
