Former US Congressman and morning show host Joe Scarborough is a Liverpool fan and has publicly Tweeted about his love for the Reds over the last few months.
He has been following me on Twitter for a few months now and last week he told me about his excitement that NESV could become the new owners of Liverpool. He has great hopes that NESV will do good following what they have done to his favourite baseball team “The Boston Red Sox”.
@JoeNBC I suffered with the Red Sox since 1975. This owners group finally eased my pain in 2004, 2 years after buying the Sox.
@JoeNBC If they take control, Liverpool will begin winning championships again soon.
Joe appeared on a football TV show here in the States and also revealed how the Red Sox management were Liverpool fans themselves. Ironically for Joe it was these same people who contributed to him catching the Liverpool bug. In his interview with Soccer Talk Live, Joe also criticised Hicks & Gillett on how they have treated the club and fans.

heard all this before about we love lfc blah’blah not once have i heard them say how much there willing to spend on a new team? if there sayin there goin to win us titles again then they will need to splash millions! look at city? man u? chelsea? unless they spend 60 70 million in the summer we dont have a chance? we need an open cheque book? tht i dont see coming? plus roy your crap go please if we want big name players we need a big name boss to get them in?
I have a bad feeling about these Americans. No explicit mention of a new stadium and also unsure whether they may borrow to finance the buying of our club. BTW anyone who has to harp on about how much they support the club, pretty much doesn’t.
Sounds like honest people who know that to be successful money and professional and talented management is a requirement! This has been proved by their success in American sports. Only time will show what is true…

That being said…I find it interesting that, according to Scarborough, there are people in the Red Sox organization who are LFC supporters–and apparently fairly serious ones.
Now, we don’t know if these Red Sox management peeps are or if they’re part of the NESV officers or investors…but, I think it adds a whole new wrinkle to the issue.
