Welcome to Anfield N.E.S.V.

Posted by

So after three hearings in court and a week that saw our emotions ride a roller-coaster, New England Sports Ventures (N.E.S.V.) just became the new owners of Liverpool F.C. today.

The morning started with Hicks dropping the injunction however we were all afraid because the news media was reporting that he did that because Mill Financial was buying his shares. It was later revealed that Mill Financial tried to get the “Fit & Proper” test passed however the E.P.L. would not deal with them unless the L.F.C. board approved.

Unfortunately Tom Hicks and George Gillett are now suing for $1.6 billion dollars, a last ditch effort of desperation. I don’t think they will win however as both High Court verdicts were crystal clear and apparently the judge in Dallas wasn’t too pleased with H&G either.

As Liverpool fans we are all hopeful that N.E.S.V. will come through with their promises to bring back the winning days at Anfield, we desperately need it.

  1. After all of the goings on in this saga, now that the ink is on the contract and the money has been lodged in the Bank, I should be feeling somewhat chipper – but i don’t. Tweedle dum and tweedle dee have really left a bad taste in my mouth. Their absolute lack of humility and (to coin someone elses phrase) breathtaking arrogance, has taken the gloss off what is to all intents and purposes a great day.

Thank God that the sale has gone through and we can relax. I will have a few beers tonight out of relief rather than joyous celebration….

  7. Thank God, God save Liverpool.
To all Liverpool fans, not to worry about the lawsuit, If they were so confident of suing they wouldnt have tried so hard to overturn the sale. Now that the sale is done, leaves them with no other options but to accept loses.

  8. im so happy, lfc fans have waited for this day for so long, and now dat its here it almost feels surreal.i think alot of praise needs to go to martin broughton, christian purslow and ian ayre.they have taken alot of stick from suppourters in the past but when the chips were down, they showed alot of balls to take on hicks and gillett.a great day in the history of lfc.
