Derby Blues

Everton 2 Liverpool 0 Sunday 17th October 2010

Quite a short review this week as I run the risk of repeating myself over and over again. The problem is that we are playing in exactly the same way, and making exactly the same mistakes as we have been doing since the start of the season, and things are not getting any better.

Today, apart from the last ten minutes, not one of our players (apart from Meirilies and Carragher) really seemed to be up for the game. Stevie G had a bit of an off day today, and was supposed to be playing alongside Torres upfront, but spent the majority of the game playing in midfield, as did Torres to be honest. No wonder we didn’t really manage to have many clear cut scoring opportunities, but the way we are playing at the moment, I am not sure we would score even if we had an open goal in front of us!

In the latter half of the second half we took the game to them and started to play, and make an attempt to get back into the game, but it was too little too late and by the time added on after the game we never looked like getting back, quite frankly.

We now lie in nineteenth place in the premier league with just West Ham below us with 6 points from 8 games, that’s a whole 16 points dropped. I just don’t know what to say at the moment, apart from the fact that we are going to have to pull our socks up and soon, before the the rot sets it to such an extent that can’t pull ourselves out of it.
