Young squad gives Roy new found depth an options as Liverpool look to the future

Liverpool Football Club over the last week proved that the so called lesser
players can rise to the occasion put out decent performances consistently.

The likes of Maxi, Lucas, Soto, Ngog and recently Kelly showed they are more than
capable of wearing that LFC shirt week in and week out. What’s been more
promising is the likes of young Jonjo, Spearing and Kelly taking their
opportunities in the 1st team with both hands an pushing for a 1st team spot.
With Kelly proving his got the ability to deal with league champs I’m sure he
can handle the rest of what the league has to offer, this will allow Roy the
opportunity to play Glen Johnson in a more advance position finally giving us
some width and creativity that we so desperately need. Spearing is pushing
Lucas hard for his place in the team and with Jonjo looking more an more like
a young Stevie can play anywhere across the mid field, finally two words can be
used to describe LFC, depth and options. I hope that Liverpool push on and get
6points this week so that during December we can look to consolidate our
position in the league.

In January I hope the new scout is smart and we have
some decent buys to add more depth to the team but with what we got I’m sure
we can push on. The jury is still out on Roy I still feel his not the man for LFC but I hope in time he proves me wrong.

  1. I guess your another Lucas basher cause you think Spearing is pushing him for his place. Spearing has done average when he’s come in, not knocking the lad, he has potential, thing is Lucas is one of our best players this season and had Torres not scored both goals against the Chav’s, Lucas would have been MotM. Add to that the fact that Lucas was one of our best and most consistent players last season.
Can’t believe people still want him out, but this new breed of Liverpool fan has no patients and obviously no eye for talent. Who’s right, a bunch of fans who’s knowledge is what they read in the tabloids, or Roy, Rafa, the Brazilian national team coach and all the other managers of the top clubs that were chasing him when we bought him? I know who i’m listening to, the managers and my own eye’s, oh as well as Opta stats that back up the statement that he’s one of the best passers in the league, 80% pass success against the Chav’s speaks volumes

  2. Nt bashing lucas just giving credit to young players pushing for places. Spearing is good in time he will get better. Just wanted to point out young players coming into the team. Thanks for the feedback was my first article

  3. Can anyone please tell me what’s going on with pacheco, he seems to have fallen off the face of the earth. Can’t understand roys thinking!

  4. Hi Merlin,

I loved the article. I think you right. The young players are certainly coming to the party. Liverpool is looking much better and we seem to have more width. I hope that they can play Glen Johnson in a more advanced position so we can have a more attacking option. We cannot rely on Torres and Gerrard to banging them in all the time, we need the other players to contribute. As for Roy, he has now had enough time to look at all the players, by now he should know their strengths and have formulated what his squad should look like.

    Awesome article….well done.

You will never walk alone….or as it may be write alone. looking forward to the next article…
