Babel out, Suarez in?

I’m not going to lie, when LFC.TV announced Ryan Babel is set to be sold, I was half way through writing a blog, article or whatever you want to call it about why Kenny should give Babel a chance in the first team or just sell him. Clearly I got my answer before I even asked the question, and now there’s nothing else to do but wish Ryan good luck at Hoffenheim, and hopefully get his career back on track, after unfortunately being a squad member for too long now, and hopefully for him now consistently being in Hoffenheim’s starting eleven and I’m sure he’s gunning to be adding to his 40 Holland caps. But then the question has to be asked, are we investing in someone else and who?

Now if the papers are going to be believed, while they’re half-right with Babel going to Germany, then surely all eyes go to Luis Suarez of Ajax and Uruguay, which who is probably best known for his “heroic” handball in the World Cup to help get Uruaguay in the Semi-Finals, and then for biting PSV player Otman Bakkal, but there’s no doubting that other that, then he’s a quality player, and a very exciting prospect. With 110 goals in 154 appearances for Ajax, his scoring record is incredible, but being in a Dutch league it should be taken with a pinch of salt, and unless he turns out to be a Ruud Van  or Denis Bergkamp, don’t expect his scoring record to be the same in England. For those of you who don’t know much about Luis Suarez, he’s just 23 years old and has 38 caps for his country, and was signed by Ajax as a replacement for Ryan Babel. Last season Suarez netted an incredible 49 goals in 48 appearances in all competitions, an amazing feat in any league.

With reports of it’s just a matter of time until he signs for Liverpool, why not take a look at our possible newest recruit?
