Andy Carroll to join Liverpool for £35m

Posted by

Breaking news is that Andy Carroll will become a Liverpool for a club breaking fee of £35 million, this moves most likely paves way for Fernando Torres to leave Liverpool.

Ridiculous fee to pay however that is what happens when you sign a player on the last day of the transfer window.

Here is a video of Andy in action.

  1. i like how the club is trying to push forward, but 35 million pounds seems like an absurd amount of money for caroll. at that price we can get llorente or someone of that caliber.

  2. Way too much money!!!!!!!!!!! But welcome Andy!!!! I always knew you would be a RED!!!! Suarez and Carroll up top, can they manage to get Elia and C Adam with the remaining $$$$ from Torres???

  3. why the heck pay so much for carroll? Llorente would have been around the same price, but much more potnetial for big club

  4. this is nothing more than a rumour but if Carroll can go on to have a career similar to another geordie legend then he’s well worth the money

  5. what an absurd transfer fee. Who is advising fsg? Hes good, dont get me wrong, but he is prob worth just half that- at the most. Im really disappointed how we are wasting the torres fee. Llorente im absolutely sure from watching him play would be a far far better signing for a similar fee. Shocked. Disappointed. Panic buying. There was enough time to ring for llorente or negredo and get them over for talks. Still is now if lfc offered this fee, especially for llorente.

  6. Still a rumour but 35million…Suarez and carroll…hey is it me but isn’t there a striking difference between these owners and the last. Kenny likes them and so do I..

  7. crazy money for an injured player.lets hope clauses are put in torres chelsea contract that he’s not allowed play next sundat

  8. this is the problem with signing an english player over priced! But least we know he can score in the premier league. As we will need a striker for the europa league. (Other than ngog)

  9. a lot of money, BUT what a player, he never gives up and unlike some trys everyweek,
so id say go torries helloooooo andy.
like the geordies we love our players,
    seems like a good call,
we need a shearer up front.we getting a few english players and scotish i hope, to quote a good saying

    WE’LL BE BACK

  10. Andy Carroll is a proper centre forward and very direct and physical, he has been excellent in the Premier League. Imagine him as the spearhead and Suarez working off him?, he won’t go missing either through on-going injuries all of the time. Now we need a winger like Nzogbia or young, Carroll will be an England player for many years to come.

  11. Is that what Liverpool mean when they talk of “history”? The thug Carroll will spend most of his contract with Liverpool in jail, if his history is anything to go by.

  12. To be honest I think 20m would be a ridiculous fee for Carroll that would only be paid on the last day of the transfer window, but 35m? There must be better options out there at 35m. Is he really 35 times better than N’Gog? 35m can only be justified if we get 70m for Torres. I’d be very disappointed if we’d sell a World Cup winning striker for 50 or less million and bought a flavour of the month (or season), hyped-up because he’s English striker without any experience beyond Newcastle for 35m. Constantly shake my head!

  13. News coming out about Anelka coming to Liverpool in the Torres deal, We will have Suarez, Anelka and Carroll. Now that would be awesome for Kenny to play with!!!!!

  14. Seriously disappointed that we’ve (possibly) invested this amount of money into a player with serious issues off the pitch. Terrible panic-buy. I’ll take bets he re-joins Newcastle in under 12 months at a fraction of the price.

  15. Apparently Andy Carrol has gone AWOL after a bust up over his move to Liverpool.
At the training ground this morning he was heard from quite a distance screaming and swearing at Alan Pardew that he wants to stay at Newcastle, he had to be restrained by other players.
The club apparantly can find him and he will not answer his phone.

  16. I live in Bilbao and have watched Llorente since his debut. Yes, he’s a good player when things are going well but he’s lazy. His work rate’s awful and he’s not worth 30million plus. Also, the president is up for re-election and has said he’s going nowhere. However, I can see him going to Real Madrid in the summer. Carroll’s English and although he’s over-priced, so is Torres.

  17. Maybe a bit too expensive but still young. Scored 11 this season while torres scored 9. English player as well. King Kenny this morning said “There is money available if we want to bring someone else in. The money is there. Their (NESV) support has been unbelievable.

So this might be a good thing in the end. Suarez is young and looks good. If we can get Adam and maybe Young this would be great

  18. I support NESV 100%, this is all Nando’s Fault, He pulled the rug right from underneath us……we needed striking power and we got it, now get a fast winger….even if we are upside down this transfer window…but it will be a memorable one!!!!!!

    Carrol Suarez

    Young Gerrard Meireles Kuyt

    Aurelio Agger Skrtel Johnson

    Reinga

    What a fucking Squad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  19. Guys, Carroll’s gonna be amazing, not only will he be a England star of the future, he will be the leading goalscorer next season.

Lads, we’re in great hands, keep faith.

  20. An absurd amount for a player that isn’t proven at international level, nor tested for even a full season in the PL.

I’m not saying it mightn’t happen (personally i hope not), but it is nothing more than pure speculation at the moment unlike what this Story would suggest!

Anyone who can prove “Andy Carroll to join Liverpool for £35m” stand up and give us the facts please!!

  21. Crazy money but blame houllier (the man who brought us el hadji diouf) he paid £24 mil for a fucking cart horse like Darren bent inflated everything. But £35 mil fir andy carrol or £35 mil to royal bank of Scotland. I know were I prefer putting that money

  22. If we have to sign Carroll for 35m because we need to replace 48m Torres, we should sack Comolli immediately. He is responsible for coming up with transfer prospects and that is all he can show. Give me three days (since Torres handed in his transfer request) and I find you more reasonable replacements. You may ask who. Well, try Benzema on loan for example. Leverkusen would tear your hand of if you offered them 15m pounds for Kiesling. Don’t know how much Giampaolo Pazzini cost but he just moved to Inter. Could have hi-jacked that move. 35m for Carroll is so ridiculous that I just can’t get over it.

  23. Carroll is only just 22, “homegrown” and will improve a lot at LFC. The King will show him the way.

  24. They still cant find him!
Carrol is AWOL and wont answer his phone!
He stormed out of the training ground earlier saying to the few fans and press at the gate “Am not FuKin gannin anywhere”

  25. Reportedly Drogba and Anelka has refused to let in torres into chelsea’s training ground….a roit has broken out over there

  26. I reckon Liverpool have tied Torres to a chair and told him to witness ongoing developments and asked to appreciate how the owners mean business. Suarez, now Carroll and soon Adam! Torres u-turn maybe?

  27. I bet SAG is taking Money from his own bank acct to buy Charlie Adam, since thats our next signing!!!! Lets get him….the depth we will have!!!!!!

  28. I’d rather have Carroll than Llorente. Carroll has proven that he can score in the EPL. Whenever you pick someone from a foreign league with a different style of play, it’s a gamble. [yes, I think Suarez is a gamble] Still very promising with both of them being young and talented.

Then again, I’d rather have a goal hungry Torres, but he has disappeared. Sooner than later he is bound to burn out, like most all world class strikers. I knew his sale could finance a future for The Reds, but i was hoping that he would go to back to Spain with either Barca or Athletico. I remember him saying last year that he couldn’t spend the rest of his career in the EPL because of the physical toll on his body.

Rafa ran him like a dog, and i do believe we got our money’s worth out of him and put a down payment for the future. But I ABSOLUTELY HATE the fact that he has ended up at CHELSKI. I wish him the best, but he may regret it when we pass them on the table.

  29. do u reallly think tht torres is going to leave…
even if he does leave we still have bought suarez, carrol, adam and maybe ashley young but the best signing was RAUL MEIELESS…!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    GREAT

  30. 35 mil for Carroll is fucking ridiculuous! Good in the air and has a good shot. A glorified Peter Crouch? I don’t know. HOWEVER, in the end, I think Liverpool came out on top in this transfer window. Lets spend the remaining 15 mil in the summer and get another Merieles caliber player in the summer it would definitely be worth it.

Thank you to the new owners for showing committment amongst this embarassing display of treachery!

  31. carrol hes verry good player n that price its good for him n he is yourg aswell n he is stronger like brogba n wi need the same type of player like andy carrol so. common lfc

  32. its good to see torres go bkz he is nt loyality hi is a big liyer of the years n for me he is a nt big player.n tru player never die kz money

  33. prefer gerrard he is the man before real madrig want to buy hi n gerrard was said i alway will play fo liverpool but gerrard now he istill in the shirts liverpool fc thats is the truv player 4 lfc.not torres torres he is a beach like female nt a man

  34. He is class, if anybody does watch match of the day every week would have seen Carroll stand out so much. Once he is playing regular for LFC he will be in the England team aswel. I think we got a good player and he will help us back to were we belong.

  35. Torres is not the same player that joined LFC. His fitness and attitude are suspect so £50m from the rent boys is great business.

Andy Carroll @ 22, is a promising talent and if he develops to his full potential (and sorts out his personal life) could also represent good business.

Both clubs are taking a gamble Chelski more than LFC and Torres’s value can only decrease where as Andy’s can increase.

Thanks for the memories Nando and welcome Andy, I’m looking forward to future.

  36. Just feel sad about the twist of fate in lfc. How can Andy Carroll cost more than David Villa??? I hope this panic buy is good enough to score at least 20 goals a season for LFC during his span of contract. It will only then justify a 35mil+add-on transfer fee for a young unproven 1-cap player. Good luck, LFC.

  37. anteater, to be honest I don’t think Carroll was necessarily our first choice. Rumour has it that we enquired about several strikers, including Llorente, Negredo, Gomez and Aguero but the respective clubs didn’t want to seel. So to say that Commolli is not doing his job properly is a bit harsh. On Friday afternoon we thought we’d got Torres’ partner in Suarez which was a job well done, a quality player for £23m. Torres hands in a transfer request and we are left with days to find an adequate repalcement. £35m is a lot of money but you can add on about £15m for him being British and because it was the last day of teh January window. But at he end of the day he has a lot of potential. He could become a great striker in the next few years.

Benzema wouldn’t have come as Real are short of strikers already (hence why they got Adebayor on loan).

How could we hijack a move for Pazzini when he was bought by Inter before Torres handed in a transfer request? Up to Friday evening we thought we had Suarez and Torres.

And what makes Keisling better than Carroll? At the age of 27 he has had one prolific season where he has scored more than 20 goals. Carroll is already well on his way to doing that at the age of 22 in his first full PL season.

Give the lad a chance before you start calling him a waste of money. Dalglish broke the British transfer record for a young 22 year old called Alan Shearer once. Remember him? Let’s hope that Dalglish still has that eye for a player. If Carroll is anywhere near as good then £35m will seem a bargain.

  38. As well as now being a part of the destiny of our beloved Liverpool FC, Andy Carroll is also one of the young players that are the future of our English national football team. I run a website about Andy, and am trying to get Liverpool and England fans all over the web to come together to show their support for him on my site or its Facebook page. Please take the time to check us out and spread the word if you think we’re any good.
