Nothing Professional About It!

Over the past 10 days or so, I’ve read a lot of comments about people asking and urging fellow fans to stop ranting about Fernando Torres. I see they have a point. However, I must admit that I am a lesser man and can’t get over his betrayal. I would rant a little here. I am seeking anticipatory apologies.

He he is a smart boy, isn’t he. Blame everything on the not-so-loved past figures of Liverpool and think he would resonate with the fans. Hicks, Gillet, Roy… But you left Liverpool when none of them were here. We were looking up. In one of my previous posts, I pointed out how he didn’t care about the fans and was unsure about the time he has on his hands. His comments ratify my views on him. Easy for him to say now that the romance is dead. Hope he’d told us that before. Anfield and supporting Liverpool FC is like a love affair. Anyway, I missed him last night, did he play?? In that post, I also wanted to make my goal clear, that I wanted LFC to finish in top-4 and CFC out of it. I am glad so many more of us are echoing that sentiment and I hope that comes true come May. May be Fernando will seek a move to Barcelona in the summer and play Champions League for them. For that matter, I urge all the Fernando fans to start a petition requesting a transfer window just before the Champion League finals. Oh and I also think I know why Fernando failed last night. There was too much emotion in the Chelsea song for Torres. I mean, blue eyes and all.. What the F! He doesn’t understand that language Mr.Gay-Blue-Pansy-Singer-On-Rent. The lyrics should have included terms like targets, rate of return, weekly outlay, revenues and whatever else; would have made the song a little but more ‘professional’ and inspired your number 9.

When the line-ups were revealed, a lot of people were worried. Antoine asked us on EOTK to not question the King’s tactics. As it turns out, the man is a tactical genius. Although it never needed any turning out. He was always a genius. Speaking of which, there is a chorus from all across for KK to be given the position full-time. I would love that to happen. But let’s hold our horses. We admit that we probably have the best management a football club could hope for. John Henry, King Kenny, Steve Clarke, Sammy Lee.. they all make it feel like a dream. It’s like what your competitors would have and you’d always crave. But no, it’s real. So let’s just say that these few good men know what they are doing; certainly know more about football and running a club more than the rest of us. Let them decide whatever they decide. We’re in good hands and let’s enjoy the football guys. Leave the rest of it to them.

Some fans posted things asking the international and non-Liverpudlian fans to support teams closer to home. Being a fellow red, I am going to listen to their advice and look for a team that plays closest to my home. I live in India and it is safe to say that there is not much happening here in terms of football. So let’s look North – Middle Asia, Russia – No; East and North East – China, Japan, Korea – we don’t get your matches here and I can’t read your papers and sites either so I cannot judge; Asia Pacific – Nah, with all due respect to Perth Glory; West Asia, Africa – Nada; let’s travel North West- Italy – umm, well Ok, but could be better; Germany – nice, but not No, Spain – Barca is nice but I’d expect much more from 90,000 spectators in a stadium; France – Zilch; England, London – Nahhh (I feel sick, saw a billionaire shooting a gay porn movie with some multimillionaire footballers; has romantic songs as well!), further Northwest, Liverpool – Oh Yeah, that’s what I’m talking about! So guys, I support the team closest to my home that plays ‘football’. Stop picking on me if I don’t have the money to travel every week to watch them play.

One of the comments that stood out last night was: “Kenny, the fans certainly seem to love you” “Aye, but only probably half as much as I love them”. I Object My Lord. Speculative!! I love you more than you love me.

For the rest of the season, we only have two tricky away ties Arsenal (who haven’t been their best at Emirates) and Sunderland (going by last night’s evidence, should be a difficult one to lose). Only Manchester United come to Anfield and we can leave the playing to the mighty supporters. Heard ManU are playing in brown shorts, whatever that means.

Things are looking up people, the bloody week seems too long!
