How good is the season shaping up! I for one am really excited about the rest of the season. From the relegation battle we are looking at a top 4 finish if possible.  Here is a look at the fixtures of the present top six against each other in the months to come.

What is interesting in this list is that except Chelsea and Liverpool, the others have away matches against the big teams. Considering the way Chelsea’s season has panned out I am not sure how many points they will take, especially playing Man U both home and away in a short space of time.

Liverpool too play most of their games at home but they have the advantage of going in on a roll and always have the Kop on hand to play as the 12th Man. Moreover, the Liverpool the opponents played against at the start of the season is no more. This is the Liverpool under Kenny Dalglish. Pass and move is the name of the game now. Suarez and Carroll will also be a part of the design by then, offering a lot of variety in our options.

So the take away is this, there is a good chance that the teams presently above us will drop points. It is up to us to capitalize on this and make sure that we take the points on offer particularly against the lesser teams and in the home games against the teams above us.

I have complete confidence in our Manager and our team to take us all the way.

  1. yes, it looks promising, but let’s not get too carried away, let’s take each game as it comes, like the King says and see where we are at the end.. I’m just over the moon, the dark days of “Woy” are gone when we played abysmally, had no shape and even less confidence…

  2. The start of Yesterdays game was the first time in about 18 months that I have truly not felt a fear that we might take a battering.

No disrespect to Chelsea, they are still a good team, but the way we played against Stoke from what I saw, in between singing Karaoke in a Bulgarian bar, we were playing quick pressing pass and move and had a real buzz and eagerness about us.

Now, I truly feel we can ride the new wave of optimism to 4th place, sure it will be tough as both teams ahead of us have a game in hand as well as a 6 point lead, but I truly think now we can gain points when they are dropping them, which they will.

Thanks Mr Dalglish and team, for restoring my faith in the current crop that were universally panned by the ‘experts’ as not being good enough.
