Double Danish Swoop for the Reds?

With next summer promising to be an interesting one for the Reds in terms of the rebuilding process, there are two young candidates for which the Club is keeping an eye with a view to joining our ranks in what is hoped to be a new era of prestige for Liverpool Football Club.

Christian Dannemann Eriksen is a 19 year old attacking midfielder currently playing for Ajax Amsterdam for whom he signed in 2008 for a reported Euro 1 million. The young Dane was the youngest player in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. It’s no secret that he is the target of half of Europe’s top elite and that in the Premier League he has aroused the interest of Arsenal and Spurs apart from the Reds. Hopefully, the young Dane will choose Liverpool as his destination in which to flourish from a young blossoming wonder-kid into a fully fledged international star.

Simon Thorup Kjær is a 21 year old central defender currently playing for Wolfsburg after coming to prominence after two seasons at Palermo in the Serie A. The blonde Dane has always claimed that Daniel Agger is his idol, and apart from being best friends they are also form a fantastic central defence partnership for Denmark. He is currently on Liverpool’s radar and Spurs are also taking an interest. In his case I think he would choose the Reds hands down due to Agger’s presence and because he will know what a fantastic tradition Liverpool have with Scandinavian players. He is also known to be particularly effective by scoring in set pieces.

Needless to say, the above two prospects will be amongst a host of other stars we will be associated with until the next transfer window. These two are young, proven, and in line with Damien Comolli’s philosophy of bringing in young players. These two however, would not come cheap, but one thing’s for sure, they would be a sure bet!
