Talk about contrasts …

Here is how you say goodbye to a real player, an honest player that has done everything right, that leaves the club on good terms.

And this is what happens, when a player leaves the club on bad terms, that betrays the club, its fans and everything around it.

See the diffrence?

  1. Your post makes zero sense .

How you say goodbye to a player worth saying goodbye to is you give them a testimonial after 10 years of service to the club .

We dont give groundsmen or window washers goodbyes & we dont give players that turn up for 3 seasons win nothing & then leave the first chance they get to make more money comes along .

We are not player fans we are Liverpool Football Club Fans & the Club is our Idol , not the staff within it , not even Shankly or Kenny are bigger than the Club , they are only her two favorite sons among a family of legends .

  2. Looking at the farewell that Ajax fans and team had given Suarez I wonder why LFC hadn’t given one of this stature to Hyppia and Alonso..

And total RESPECT to Ajax fans who sang You’ll Never Walk Alone song for Suarez… Next time Ajax is on..I’ll make sure I watch it cos these fans remind me much of Kops fans… :D YNWA!!!

  3. Spot on yabbadabbadoo

It’s never about the name on the back but the crest on the front, sad scenes seeing Liverpool fans burn a shirt last month, especially as there are plenty of charities like kit Africa who are crying out for donations of old football kits

  4. anyone that burns an lfc shirt is not a true supporter its wots on the front that counts not the back, ajax were good to saurez as was saurez to ajax the opportunity to say goodbye was a nice touch, wot torres done was whole differant ball game no comparison! we are a bigger club than ajax chelsea are not a bigger club than liverpool! pointless comparison!!!

  5. I think I get what you are trying to say now , you are saying Liverpool is a step down from Chelsea like how the Ajax fans know Liverpool is a step up from them in which case we should applaud Torres for moving on to bigger & better things ?

Needles to say I disagree .

Liverpool is among the top 6 clubs on the planet , in no particular order Liverpool , Bayern , Ac Milan , Juve , Man Utd , Barca , Real . Even Ajax is a bigger club than Chelsea , its less than 20 years since they won the Champions league for the 4’th time & by the way in 20 years Chelsea have won less major Trophys than Liverpool , its only the current financial climate that has Ajax fans applauding a great goal scorer for them who recently left them for a richer more successful Giant in a more competitive League .
Same scenario in 5 years time if they bring through yet another crop of talent that challenges in Europe they would be baying for the blood of a top goal scorer willing to leave em .

Money comes & money goes but the stature of the great clubs remain , Chelsea for all their spending can never buy that & Liverpool will never applaud a player who won nothing for them willingly taking a step down by leaving them to chase penny’s at the expense of Legend .

We didnt burn Peter Crouchs Shirt & nor did we give him a sickly sweet over sentimental farewell when he left us for a lesser club so I dont see why Torres should be treated or thought of any different .

  6. Agreeing with the above comment; Suarez was a big asset to Ajax and while he deserved to go back and say goodbye to his old club, its a completely different situation with Torres having only been here for a few seasons and as you’ve pointed out ‘won nothing.’

  7. Its been a month, why are people still talking about torres? you are like the bitter ex after a breakup, just cant stop talking shit. He’s a chelsea player now, move on with life.

  8. torres will win fuck all at chelsea poofball club, certinly not the prem nor the fa cup and definetly not the champs league. that pic posted by nezik is the what every kopite feel about his betrayal!! f@ck clit-torres

    in king kenny we trust!!

  9. While what happened with Suarez is brilliant, it is also a testament to him as a player and person. Perhaps Torres wasn’t a big enough person. Time has passed, I’ve moved on. But kit burning should not be tolerated. It shows that young LFC supporters are hooligans. And the crest is sacred not the name!! As long as there is a Liverpool Crest on the kit, it is a Liverpool kit. And last I checked, Torres had left Liverpool not the other way around, so spare the Torres kits for the less fortunate!

  10. the idiots who wanted to burn a shirt could of bought a chelsea top with his name on rather than a top with the liverbird on. torres deserves no good farewell he went about things the wrong way and i cant wait to see his face when we finish above chelsea in the league and they win f all

    ynwa

  11. I feel Lfc supporters were so obsessed with the departure of Torres that we didn’t give Luis Suarez the welcome he deserved. When Hyppia was leaving the Kop spelled out SAMI in large letters which moved him to tears..nothing else needed to be said or done.
