Tribute to King Kenny

Happy 60th birthday to our beloved Kenny Dalglish! I wanted to share with my fellow Reds a poem I just wrote. It’s about our brilliant memories with him. Wish there was a way for him to read it.  Any ideas? :-)

Kenny Dalglish: Our Scottish Saviour

“Close your eyes and reminisce of twenty-four years ago,

When a Scottish lad so great and fierce had first stolen the show,

Away from Hamburg Keegan, as his best days had passed,

Linked with Welsh boy Rush, they soon became world class.

So fearful were Mancunians, oh, they’d plead and beg.

“Dear King Kenny,” they cried, “please don’t roast us dead.”

Now this lad was a sweetheart, he listened to the sods,

And only scored 118 goals at Liverpool; wait, that is a lot!

He then became our manager, our brilliant number seven,

Great Scot could do hat tricks against any team’s eleven.

Heysel didn’t stop him and made him so much stronger,

After stints at Celtic, Blackburn, he’ll stay for even longer.

If there was a man out there who could make Fergie cry,

Why, King Kenny could do it without opening his eyes. ”
