One for a fellow Red…YNWA

When I asked to be an author on this website I wanted to share a lot of feelings. Being from India, which is hardly present on the football web, I wanted to share my Red passion with the rest of the people of the world and also speak to the rest of the Indians. EOTK has been a forum that lets me be a blogger without qualifications. All that is required is the basic love for Liverpool Football Club and knowing where the keys are on the keyboard. To think of this website, to design and develop it, to maintain it for the past 2 years or so, I think we all need to give a fair amount of credit to one true Red – Antoine Zammit.

While what I am writing on this article may threaten to suggest otherwise, let me please lay it bare that I am neither commercially associated with the website nor do I personally know Antoine any more than the rest of us regulars do.

Here is a lad who dedicates almost his entire time to keep us posted. He tweets, blogs, run competitions, talks on radio, raises awareness, maintenance of EOTK and so on and so forth. This along with things that the rest of us do like raising a family and the jing-bang that comes with having a family.

It’s all too easy to criticize and ostracize people on the blogging forum. But it is an entirely different and unacceptable thing to blame him for things like lying. The man has enough sensitivities to apologize on twitter when he tweets a news story from a website but one that might have originally originated from the S*n (given the level of journalism in England, there is no way to establish the right source of all news items anyway).

Some people blame him for making money by selling t-shirts commemorating Hillsborough and promising that proceeds go to HJC but not actually doing it. To this, I don’t need to say anything to the person who thinks such but something to Antoine – please do not acknowledge that these people exist because if you do you will only dignify their existence.

We are one big Liverpool family, and most of the ties in a family are based on mutual respect and trust. It is not possible that everyone will get along well with everyone else but to disrespect him/her in any way, to accuse him/her of unfounded things, to blame unnecessarily, is uncalled for. If you wouldn’t do it within your family, you shouldn’t do it in this family either.

YNWA Antoine!
