Liverpool vs Birmingham City (Saturday)

Posted by

It has become a rarity this season, we actually have a 3PM Saturday kick off as we welcome Birmingham City to Anfield.

Kenny said that both Jamie Carragher and Andy Carroll are doubtful however I think Carroll will play while Carra will be rested as a precaution. Other players who will not feature include Fabio Aurelio, Glen Johnson & Martin Kelly while Daniel Agger and Steven Gerrard are out for the rest of the season. I believe that the gaffer will start Robinson and Flanagan.

Predicted Lineup:
Pepe Reina, John Flanagan, Martin Skrtel, Sotirios Kyrgiakos, Jack Robinson, Jay Spearing, Lucas Leiva, Raul Meireles, Dirk Kuyt, Luis Suarez, Andy Carroll

Kick off is at 3PM BST

  1. I just can’t wait to see the two young wing-backs play again for LFC on Saturday!
    2-0 for LFC I’d say!

  2. We seem to struggle against the ‘lesser’ teams these days. Let’s try and firstly get a win and score some goals then if possible play some attractive football and enjoy ourselves. King Kenny has us playing great against the top teams so let’s try and take that into every game and end the season on a high !!!!! YNWA 96 Lost but never forgotten!

  4. We will see once again against birmingham that the huge energetic performances of the big games abruptly disappears. The likes of spearing, lucas and kuyt will be well down in energy levels. We have struggled against the smaller teams all season because of the failure of the management to insist on a high powered first 15 minutes to get a 2-3 goal lead and then sit back and hit the opposition on the break.Too many times Dalglish fails to implement this requirement. It will turn out to be yet another small team opponent failure. How is a team that cannot beat small teams ever going to win a title? The management and players are weak in the head.Even southampton beat man utd in 1976 to win an fa cup.So any poor team can play above themselves now and again. What are our fans getting so excited about? You will alll be be frustrated and depressed by 5pm on saturday evening.

    1. Kenny, you might be right, but when will you ever decide to cut this crap? I don’t want you to think you are winding me up, because I assure you, you are not. Give the lads at least the benefit of the doubt and once the game is through you can either spur them on or hammer them down. But let them play the bloody game first.
If this is how you seriously look at football then I am sorry to say you have issues friend.

    2. Well Kenny….you are going to have to suck it all up friend! So much for being a stubborn pessimist…..!

  5. as much as i’d love it with not a great deal to go for i think the king will blood one and bring another on later by jiggling more experienced players. get well gerard houllier

  6. Kenny, please god I hope you are wrong, even though I agree we need more quality players to break down teams that simply defend against and then hit us with a sucker punch.

We need Luis to be on top form, hopefully next season he will be assisted by the likes of A. Sanchez & others like him.

    1. Hey Sharde. Kenny might even be right, but it’s not a positive way of thinking. We get a game right and we may get the game wrong, but it’s really no use be cataclysmic even before the game starts. The Reds have been unbeaten at home for 8 consecutive games under Kenny and the lads know they are in for a shot for 5th, and whether this is enough to land us in Europe or not they will still go for it.
