So last week I said I’d post a poll as to what people would prefer… as at the time there seemed to be differing opinion on whether next season we’d be better off without the Europa League or with it. This is not a poll on whether people would rather win the prem or europa league… I think we ALL know the answer to that!
Well the results were pretty conclusive… and as 196 of you voted which was a fair amount to make a conclusion on I reckon! Roughly 73% of the vote went towards being in the Europa League compared to 27% opposed. Obviously looking back I should have made it more obvious that focus on the Premiership meant also of course the FA cup and League Cup… the poll was more meant to be as to whether you thought the Europa League would be a distraction.
So I’ll conclude.. the majority of you believe we should be in the Europa League and as many of you have stated in comments… this is for financial reason, attraction of Europe’s top talent, a competition to blood youngsters… and also the simple fact, it’s another competition and we should as a club be looking to win EVERYTHING! I would agree with this… and add in the fact… it’s not the Champions League but still, nothing beats a European night at Anfield.
Here’s hoping we qualify!
