Will it be Stewart Downing or Scott Dann next, or both?

The signing of Jordan Henderson has brought a mixture or reactions across the fan base, some saying it is good to sign young talent, and others said that we did not need another midfielder. Other than said we paid too much while the more philosophical claimed that if Kenny bought him he had his reasons.

Phil Jones, apparently snapped up by Man Utd, seemed to be next in line, but alas we were beaten to his signature as SAF rings the changes with a view to revamp his team after a season which saw the Red Devils win the Premier League on the demerits of others (Chelsea/Arsenal).

Scott Dann, a Scouse-blooded centre back and lifelong Liverpool fan is on the radar. He has been out of action for most of last season due to injury but when he did play, he formed a formidable partnership in defence and attacking set pieces with Roger Johnson at Birmingham City. Stewart Downing on the other hand, is a pacey (though some consider him slow) winger with a formidable shot and a sublime cross. Dann will relish playing for the Reds and will not want to play in the Championship. As for Downing, a move to Liverpool would also guarantee him first team football (the Reds had been in for him before his move from Middleborough to Villa a couple of seasons ago).

Do you think these two players are next in line? What would you think would be a fair price to pay?
