Who’s In, Who’s Out, Who’s Parked: Part 3!

In: Doniéber Alexander Marangon aka DONI

Doniéber Alexander Marangon aka Doni is Liverpool’s new back-up keeper. The lanky (6 ft 5 in) brazilian keeper has joined the Reds from AC Roma on a free transfer, and will provide experienced back-up to Pepe Reina should this be required. The Sao Paolo born 31 year old holds an italian passport and comes to Merseyside after having played in the eternal city for the past 6 seasons.
Doni has been AC Roma’s keeper since 2005 where he has played in 172 competitive games. The last few seasons had seen him alternate between the posts with compatriot Julio Sergio more recently looked to be the preferred choice. The brazilian shot-stopper has also been capped 10 times by his native Brazilian Celecao.
Two top keepers in the squad. Position well covered in my view! That is the third piece of business done between the Reds and AC Roma in the last couple of years.
Welcome aboard Doni!
