Help Carra help your community!

The 23 Foundation was set up by Liverpool FC’s number 23, Jamie Carragher, at the start of 2009 with the Community Foundation for Merseyside and aims to give local kids in Merseyside ‘a chance’ to make a difference in society by giving them an outlet through football and sport.

The 23 Foundation is currently seeking young people aged 8-18 to take part in a survey to find out what activities youths in Merseyside are involved in and to gain an understanding of young people’s perspectives and aspirations. The 23 Foundation can’t solve all the problems that the youth of today face, but finding out more about young people’s wishes and aspirations will enable the charity to target the funds it has to spend each yearto the places that need it the most. So if you’re aged 8-18 and want to help Carra help your community and be in with a chance of wining an exclusive 23 Foundation goody bag, please have your say and fill out the survey athttp://www.cfmerseyside.org.uk/23-Foundation-Youth-Survey.

To date, the foundation has given out over £90,000 in grants to local charities, community groups and projects operating throughout Merseyside. One of which includes Merseyside YouthBank, an organisation that the 23 Foundation has worked in conjunction with to create the youth survey. Merseyside YouthBank aims to redress the negative image of young people in society through inviting them to apply for funding that will support their innovative and community enhancing projects. In this way, YouthBank is able to actively involve young people in potentially providing solutions to some of the problems they feel their communities face. 1. The technically-inept Carragher should help fans the world over by hanging up his frigging boots permanently.
